BAJA BEACH RESIDENCE
Emerging between the beach and the desert, the rammed earth structures were designed as a tight series of clusters forming around a courtyard and blurring indoor and outdoor spaces. Sited on a minimal footprint on the edge of a pristine beach, the house is both introverted, overlooking a drought tolerant landscape and the pool, and outward facing with the ocean panorama as a constant backdrop.
With a palette of rammed earth, concrete, naturally weather local wood and fired earth bricks, the house strives to be warm and minimal, simple and open - a house that honors local heritage through scale and materials.
