Located near the shore in Asbury Park, New Jersey, this residence merges traditional construction methods with modern, meditative lines.

The design blurs the edges of the home, with stepped walls under an oversized roof creating a continuous, columnless wrap-around porch. The new structure fits well within its context merging regional beach-side materials with traditional proportions, and use of vernacular hipped roofs with oversized dormers providing a light filled second floor and lofted ground floor spaces.
